After already being immortalised in the Star Trek universe through the naming of a Sydney Class Starship the USS Jenolan, the NSW tourist attraction Jenolan Caves is set to further its relationship with Star Trek and its fans. In what is thought to be a world first starting on the 21st August 2010 Jenolan Caves will be offering one of its self guided tours in the Klingon language.
The Self-Guided Tour at Jenolan goes through a cave called "The Nettle" and is toured by between 150,000 to 200,000 visitors annually, making it the most visited cave in Australia. The cave is developed, with a pathway and lighting, and visitors take the tour which is of 45 minutes to an hour duration with a digital audio guide provided by 'Acoustiguide of Australia'. This tour is currently available in 8 languages, but as of August 20 will be available in 11 including Klingon - the first genuine tour to be made available on Planet Earth for Klingon speakers.
